For the stack of paper to reach the moon, it would take approximately 42 folds in half. This would be unrealistic because there would not be a big enough piece of paper that existed, for it to be able to be folded over itself that many times. Also, you can't realistically go to the moon by standing on a stack of paper? What?
Well, after 42 folds, the stack would probably not be wide enough to stand on, because again, there wouldn't be enough paper after 42 folds for it to be able to fold over top of itself. After folding an 8.5X11 sheet of paper, I was only able to fold it over top of itself about five or six times before there wasn't any paper left to fold.
